Hello again bloggers..

Yesterday I posted a question in the Coffee Shop to get some of your opinions about the Chinese Gymnasts, but since none of you responded I am going to talk about the news for today.

--First up today is the situation with people that share the same name with someone on the terrorist watch list and have a hard time checking in for their flights. I guess having a common name like "James Robinson" could make your life just a bit more difficult now-a-days, according to a retired Air National Guard General and commercial pilot, former assistant attorney general for President Clinton, and one 8 year old boy. All three of them have reported delays in just being able to check into the airlines whenever they want to travel. Instead of being able to complete the process online or at curbside, they must go to the ticket counter and wait while an airline employee makes phone call after phone call and fill out special forms so that they can get their name off the list.

Now here is the question for you guys: Is our national security worth all this trouble? Do you have a better solution, or is this just a sacrifice some people will have to make to ensure the safety of our travelers?

--My next topic is one that makes me sick to my stomach. Tuesday a convicted sex offender admitted to the robbery, kidnap, rape, and murder of a 20 year old college student in South Carolina two years ago. He reportedly strangled her with her own bikini top and left her body in an off-campus apartment. A defense psychiatrist for the case stated that he has repeatedly said he wants to get the death penalty for this crime, claiming that he wants to pay for his actions. It makes me want to vomit when I keep hearing about things like this.

Should he get the death penalty? What do the readers think about this?

--With other news:

Apparently the Bigfoot claim is fake... who knew?

In Germany an old couple got stuck upside down for three hours after they flew their small plane into some power lines.

Invisible cloaks might actually be possible! This was pretty cool.

Also, my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of the reported 7 tornadoes spawned in southern Florida from tropical storm Fay.

Please feel free to leave comments. I want to know what you think.

Thanks for reading,

First, thanks for visiting my blog! I appreciate it. :o)

    Second, my thoughts?

No bigfoot???!!! You're pulling my leg! :o) LOL...yeah, I figured that was all a hoax! Although there have been some pretty cute commercials about him.

I also think that airport security is important but you know what? Anything can be taken too far. Even that. But that's easy for me to say because I wouldn't get on a plane if you paid me a billion dollars! Ten years ago I'd have said a million but with inflation and all...

Lastly...put the guy to death. Right along with the jerk who raped and murdered two young women years ago when he was 19. Now he's so fat he and his attorney are trying to get a stay because his weight can affect how well the drugs work. The poor guy might experience an excruciating death.

I wonder how pleasant HE made it for his victims?

Thanks for giving my blog some love. I actually agree with just about everything you said except for the fact that I still fly.

I enjoyed your post! And thanks for visiting my blog.

My thoughts are: it is unfortunate that these people were held back all because of their name, however, if it ensures passengers safety then so be it until they come up with a better system. Which I would think they'd have one by now, but I guess we're a little slow in that process.

Fry the guy. If that is his wish then give it to him. He knows he's wronged. Better yet, he could commit suicide so he can save tax payers' money that would be used to put him to death.

Great, no Bigfoot. No Montauk Monster. No Loch Ness. No Fairies. Next you're going to tell me there's no Santa, either. What is this world coming to?

    :)

Hey...one more thing, in case you want to visit my blog again. I decided to change the name from Research by Kristy to Kristy's Corner.

I decided I needed a little more freedom in what my blog is about! I'll still research questions but sometimes I just like to ramble! :o) Thanks again for visiting!

I was hoping someone would make the arguement that it cost more to execute someone than to let them rot in prison for the rest of their lives, but that is only because someone said that we can kill them, we just have to do it in a humane way. For some reason, they considered being electicuted to death humane.

I say we just shoot them. When bought in bulk, bullets are only a few cents each and if we aim for the head, we shouldn't have to use more than one.

The problem with letting him kill himself is that we would then have an investigation and Lifetime Report on how a prisoner was forced to live in "substandard" (ha!) conditions and it was so bad it pushed him to commit suicide.

My husband has trouble in airports because he is dark complected and has a beard...guess my teddy bear looks pretty scary especially since our kids (and me ) all have blonde hair and blue eyes! Yup, we look like the ultimate terrorists! BUT at the same time, i guess we can't be too cautious...keep up the writing and thanks for visiting my blog
